Design Tip: Planning for Your Closet Design

Properly planning storage areas is so important to ensuring they are not just beautiful, but also functional with the right solutions for great organization. Prior to putting pen to paper on our dressing room design, we discussed the storage needs for our client’s clothing, shoes, handbags, and accessories. We reviewed the number of boots and heels to determine the cubby sizes. We inventoried hanging items making sure we created long enough rods for all of her dresses, blouses, and more. We also explored her accessories collection and folded items.

This gave us what we needed to plan for the correct type and amount of storage.

We also discussed the use of the room. Would she put makeup on in this space? What about hair styling? Would she want seating to relax?
