My husband and I hired The Modern Vic to redesign our two bathrooms after years of contemplating this endeavor without knowing how to get started.

“If it weren't for Sarah and The Modern Vic, home remodel project would never have happened. We needed to renovate our home from top to bottom, but didn't even know where to begin. The project felt so big and overwhelming and we have never done anything like this before. Once we found Sarah, the project really started to take shape. She held our hands through the entire process, from finding an architect, sending us contractor recommendations, helping us find our "vision," to being on site for deliveries and installs.  She even talked through placement of doorstops!

Sarah was great with working within our budget, helping us prioritize where to splurge and identifying areas where we could save some money. We went big in the kitchen and the primary bath, which look amazing. But in spaces where we saved, everything still looks great thanks to her finding us classic looks at a great deal. 

All of our friends comment on how great the house looks. Sarah did an amazing job creating a cohesive look throughout the whole house. Neither my husband nor I know anything about design, but we knew how we wanted our home to feel. When you walk into a space that Sarah has created it just feels amazing. I can't tell you why it looks so good, but I feel it!

Sarah and her team’s dedication to our project was unbelievable. On multiple occasions, they came to our house to receive deliveries.  As a project manager, Sarah had all the tough conversations with subs about redoing work that just wasn't up to our standards. She has an incredible eye for detail, able to catch all the issues that I wasn't able to see right away.

”Working with Sarah from the The Modern Vic not only helped us achieve a beautiful design for our 1860 Creole double shotgun, she truly captured our hopes for our house and made it our home.

Sarah and her team shared the same excitement for our property and understood our desire to make it a tranquil sanctuary in a very lively neighborhood. We did not want an over designed space, but instead a spare amount of highly functional and flexible furniture–and Sarah found comfortable pieces to achieve this balance. The textures in our home all complement each other and the “bones” of the original house.

In particular, the unfinished attic had so much potential for a peaceful primary suite. And, my husbands’ artisan cocktail hobby also required a downstairs wet bar and entertainment space, but we wanted to preserve the shotgun format, while creating a more open feeling on our ground floor.

Sarah made all of our meetings super productive and communication was easy. Her ability to tap into our aesthetic and functional needs meant the mood boards and 3D renderings really spoke to us and allowed us to see how the design was all going to come together.

Sarah’s collaboration with our general contractor here in New Orleans was wonderful. She knows how to work with and collaborate on ideas for both function and form.
